Why is necessary to consider the phase that is not participating in heat transfer process?
with this message I would like to ask a question related to consideration of volumetric heat transfer coefficient as defined in ANSYS Fluent Theory Guide using the expression
h_pq = (λ_q * Nu_p)/d_p,
where index q refers to continuous and p to dispersed phase.
The question is: "If the heat transfer process in a two-phase system occurs only in one phase, e.q. superheated vapor (dispersed, p-th phase) and saturated liquid (continuous, q-th phase), why is still necessary to consider the thermal conductivity of the liquid phase inside the volumetric heat transfer coefficient of two-fluid model?"
