I have a problem with a pipe flow that has a uniform flow at the entrance. What does that mean?

  • It means that the velocity is constant.

In a uniform flow at a given cross-section, the velocity field of the fluid, at that cross-section, is constant. A flow field where this occurs at any given section normal to the flow can be referred to as a uniform flow field. In a manner of general speaking, a uniform flow assumption is used to simplify a flow analysis.
