Running APDL in batch mode

Hello ANSYS forums,

I want to run a Workbench thermal / structural simulation without the user interface on a Linux-based HPC system.

Can I use the database (ds.dat) from the Workbench project_files folder and use the process outlined in section 4.4 in the Operations Guide (https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v201/en/ans_ope/Hlp_G_OPE3_4.html)?

I assume I want to enter a command something like the following:

What do productvar, inputname, and outputname mean? Do I put the name of my .dat file as the inputname?

My apologies, as this section of the operations guide is a little over my head. Does anyone know of a resource that would help me to understand how this process works?

Hi,

You can rename the ds.dat file as .inp file and use the same as an input for batch run. For the command indicated refer the point#14 in link below:
