How to set cycles for loading force during fatigue test in Ansys workbench ?
in Structures
Hi everyone,
I'm a new user of Ansys workbench. I'm studying 3D printed metallic structures and I'd like to test them in fatigue. I want to set steps for the loading force : step 1 = 4 seconds ramp to 6 kN, then step 2 = 50 seconds of sinus between 0.6 kN and 6 kN, then step 3 = 4 seconds of tension at 6 kN and then go back to step 2 and so on and so forth. So it should look like that : step1, step2, step3, go back to step2, step3, go back to step 2, step 3, etc until the specimen breaks. So do you know how could I do this ? and how could I set this kind of cycle ?

It is not clear what you mean by "sinus".
Sinus = sinusoidal
You cannot model that type of loading using the Mechanical Fatigue Tool (FT). You could evaluate the fatigue damage caused by each step individually and combine their damages using Fatigue Combinations, but that approach may miss the most fatigue damaging stress combinations. You could model this type of loading using Ansys nCode DesignLife, but you would need to solve the harmonic loading in the time domain.
