How can we identify the number of cores required/in-use for any particular job of LS-Dyna?

    The number of required cores depends on the problem size and executable being used. SMP scales well till 4-6 cores. MPP scales further till about 128+ cores. Beyond that hybrid may be the best option. How well a particular problem scales depends on the specific model, e.g. how the contacts are configured, how the constraints are placed etc.

    The number of cores in use can be discerned from the LS-DYNA output, e.g. messag file in SMP, or number of mesXXXX files in MPP, or you can look at a process list, e.g. Task Manager in Windows or top in Linux.
