Licensing Error Through VPN
We have encountered a problem regarding Ansys Electronics Desktop licenses. Both server and client are using VPN connections. Server has license server 2020R1 and client is using version 2018.
With the hosts file modified, client is able to ping the server and telnet 1055 and 2325 ports that license server utilizes. However, it could not retrieve the license from server when there is still license available.
I have read several threads on the forum and I have checked that the exact server name is defined in client end. Also, regarding the concerns over VPN. Both client and server will return the same IP address ( server has to specify to ping with "-4" options). Again, it is really weird since client has no problem ping the server and telnet both ports.
Also, client could not find %TEMP%/.ansys folder therefore there is no .out file for diagnostics.
