DPM interaction with continuous phase in VOF


I noticed that DPM particles injected in a domain filled with water(primary phase VOF) and air (secondary phase VOF) do interact only with the primary phase. Is it correct? is there a way to make them interact with the secondary phase too?

    Currently, DPM particles interact with the Primary phase only as you have noted correctly. You might have to implement the drag from secondary phase using DEFINE_DPM_DRAG UDF. Using the particle pointer, you can get the cell information in which the particle is currently present. Then using that , you can fetch the volume fraction and fluid velocity in the cell. Check the VOF condition to determine the phase and then apply the drag force based on the relative velocity.

    This might work but you will need to test it first with a simple model.
