Hi guys,

I would like to know how to evalaute the self-inductance of a passive stainless steel structure. The structure is sorrounded by coils and it is not directly excited by external currents.

Does anyone know how to evaluate the self-inductance of this structure and also the electrical resistance?

In case do you know some analytical formulas that can be applied?

Cheers,

Alessio

    Hi,

you can run a simulation with eddy current solver with a simple internal excitation. Make sure to assign parameter-->matrix before analyzing.

In result-->solution data you can view R and L values under matrix tab.

  • Thank you,

but do you mean just giving a current as an input (arbitrarily) to the passive structure and therefore evaluating the parameters?
