exact meaning of the initial gas fraction in CHEMKIN.

I am using Chmkin software.

I'm using PSR, and I'm curious about the exact meaning of the Initial gas fraction.

I think the exact meaning of the initial gas fraction will be divided into two.


The first is that the gas fraction value when not mixed with other gases is entered in the 'Initial gas fraction' column. If only N2 and O2 enter the chamber, the initial gas fraction of N2 and O2 is 1 respectively. But through nomalize, it becomes 0.5 and 0.5 respectively.


The second is that the equilibrium gas fraction value after the reaction occurs by mixing with other gas is entered in the 'Initial gas fraction' column. If only N2 and O2 go into the chamber, the value after N2 and O2 react and equilibrate like N2-0.4, O2-0.4, and NO-0.1 (example) should be entered in the 'Initial gas fraction' column.

*The amount of reactant is determined in the 'reactant fraction' column. The initial gas fraction cannot be the quantity of reactants.

Which one is right?
