Mesh Doubled in Fluent

Somehow, two copies of my mesh are being displayed in fluent. Before I ran the calculation there was only the horizontal body, but afterwards the vertical one showed up.

I'm not sure how the second one showed up or how to remove it.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as you can probably tell I'm very new at this.

  • I re-did the setup and did not have this problem again. Not sure what I did the first time to cause this.

I think we add that one to the "weird things that users have done" list and don't worry too much. Most likely you clicked on a symmetry option or did something in geometry without realising. Note hidden volumes in SpaceClaim will pass to the meshing tools, you need to suppress them and check they're also suppressed for physics.

Maybe symmetry mirroring has ben done or you appended the case again or you had duplicated bodies in preprocessing.. don't worry 😉
