Can an automatically created surface be used to represent a concrete floor?

Hi,

I have used the fill and blend functions to create surfaces to be used to represent a concrete floor between four beams.

Can the automatically created surface shown below (highlighted in tree) be used to represent a concrete floor? Will the surface be connected to the beams in the analysis?

The answer is yes and if the perimeter of the surface is changed the beams (created on the edges) will also adjust in response

I agree with you. This method is not popular, but it can be used. See the options for designing a concrete floor here.

@LachlanConsiden The link you provided is a link to a website for a floor surface contractor, this does not seem consitant with your comment, i.e "See the options for designing ....".
