Geometry interface not found
Hi, i have problems to open a dbs file with ansys 2021 R1, a message "Geometry interface not found" appears. It is a problem of license or i am opening the file in the wrong way?

@GiulioValerio Are you running Ansys Student? If so, you would only have access to STEP and IGES files, and Parasolid natively within DesignModeler.
If you look in your %TEMP%\.ansys directory there will be log files that will give more information if this is in fact due to a lack of license.
Hi,
Thank you for your answer.
Yes i am running Ansys Student, im sorry but i have no idea where to look for %TEMP%\.ansys, i found the lincenses.chromium, i dont know if its the same thing.
Open a file explorer window and enter "%TEMP%\.ansys" in the address bar.
I have a list of AddinTemplates, can i upload a screenshot of that?
That's not right.
Sorry for my ignorance
Please share the full contents of the licdebug.DESIGNMODELER.211.out and licdebug.FEAT_ADVANCED_MESHING.211.out
The .dbs file you're trying to import, into which application are you trying to import it?
I have to see the geometry, i am running Fluid Flow (Fluent), then geometry and Spaceclaim because i saw that it supports dbs files.
It appears the Gambit Reader was discontinued as of Release 2020R1.
The Professor sent me this file. I have to tell him to convert it in another format
Thank you
Have a nice day
Assuming he has an older version of Workbench it'll read into DesignModeler and he can then export the agdb file (DM format) for you to use. I'd suggest he exports Step as that's also recognised by CAD and he can check it's valid. Note, the old Gambit reader won't pick up mesh or virtual geometry settings.
