Viscoelastic properties (curve fit)
Hello,
I have a pressure ratio versus frequency graph from literature that I want to fit in the parameters of my viscoelastic material in my transient analysis. I will be using the Prony series. I know that to do curve fitting for Prony series I need the shear modulus versus time graph. I know how to get damping ratios from my data but I have no clue as to how to turn that into the shear modulus so I can do the curve fitting. Any help? Or should I change the way of thinking this whole thing?
Thanks

Hello @far29,
You will need the shear relaxation test data or the values of storage and loss modulus vs frequency. Please have a look at https://forum.ansys.com/discussion/3105/viscoelastic-sandwich-plate-analysis and https://forum.ansys.com/discussion/2491/modelling-visco-elastic-material-for-harmonic-response-analysis. I don't think you can derive shear modulus using the data for pressure ratio.
