Ansys Licensing Interconnect for 2021R1?

heechangnaheechangna Member Posts: 26

The licensing guide said Ansys Licensing Interconnect (ALI) has been replaced by Ansys Common Licensing (ACL). But, it didn’t tell much about how ACL works. So, my questions are

  1. ACL needs a port similar to ALI? If so, how we specify it? For ALI, we used ANSYSLI_SERVERS. Then in 2021R1 with ACL, what environment variable should we use? It is still ANSYSLI_SERVERS with 2325 as default port?
  2. The start-up script was ansysli_server for ALI. But, in 2021R1, I don’t see something like ansyscl_server. It is just the same name for convenience?, or there is another binary for ACL?

Thank you so much!

@heechangna Correct, the ALI is replaced and not used for products at version 2021R1 going forward.

    1) No specific port is needed, no variable to create. The ALI is still required for product versions prior to 2021R1, so the license server would still run the ALI if supporting previous releases.

    2) You still run the license manager as you have in the past.
