Auxetic structure compression

hello

I am trying to simulate an auxetic material compression, but the upper plate is moving behind the object instead of compressing it.

any help?

    Hello @Mahdi,

    You need to define an appropriate contact ( ex - frictionless) to simulate interaction/force transfer between 2 bodies. Check this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9dYcIkg3Z4. Also, any reason why you are using explicit dynamics? What is the objective? Explicit is usually used for simulations which happen in a very short interval of time like bullet impact. You should try doing it in transient structural instead (or static structural if its a steady state analysis).

    Thank you very much. I depended on body interactions in explicit, but I realized I set it only on one body by mistake. I am using explicit because I had a hard time with the convergence for hyperelastic materials in implicit solvers at high compression, so I try to adjust some settings to run a quasi-static simulation in explicit. one thing I want to ask again if possible do you have any idea why the Ogden foam model 3rd order is not working in explicit.


    I don't think the problem is with the constants I found because this message didn't appear in static structural when I tried the model in it. How can I define the equation of state in case that was the problem?
