Why Pressure-Farfield Condition Can Only Be Used With Ideal Gases?

Hi people.

I wonder why this condition can only be used with density adjusted to ideal gas. Does the flow being compressible or incompressible change that? And why? What would happen if it weren't ideal gas? Thank you very much.
