Issue Running Ansys ls-dyna

amq7yamq7y Member Posts: 1

Hi, I am trying to use ansys LS-DYNA in linux OS and I get the following error message, I have done the following steps to get to this point,

1. Installed Ansys with Lsdyna feature

2. Exported the license information, I am able to run Ansys Fluent with the same license information.

3. I am not able to see the ls-dyna extension from the extension manager after launching the workbench

4. We do have license feature(aa_r_dy) which should allow us to use Ansys ls-dyna

5. I get the error message as shown when launching the lsdyna executable

Do I need an separate license for Ansys ls-dyna? or am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Asif.

ANSYS Installation files include LS-DYNA Installation files.

Are the LS-DYNA executables in your computer coming from ANSYS Installation files?

When LS-DYNA starts, can you check the output to see if it includes the ANSYS license information? See attached picture below.

    Hi,

This is what the output I have

Yes, the ls dyna executable comes from the installation location.

    Thanks,

Thanks. Can you check the Environmental Variables in the Linux machine to see if the LS-DYNA license manager is pointing to ANSYS?

If not, set the following environmental variable:

    LSTC_LICENSE=ANSYS

I did not have the variable LSTC_LICENSE=ANSYS before, after your response, I have add LSTC_LICENSE variable along with previous variables as follows,

    export ANSYSLI_SERVERS=2325@server.col.missouri.edu

    export ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE=27003@server.col.missouri.edu

    export LSTC_LICENSE=ANSYS

    and then I run /cluster/software/ansys/ansys-2021R1/v211/ansys/bin/lsdyna

I still get the same error,

    Thanks,

    Asif.

    Hello cxquan,

Is the error message related to licenses or something else?

    Thanks,

    Asif.
