hello , i want to do a cfd analysis of a wind turbine blades , the problem is i want to rotate the turbine blades at different wind speed, i have tried in fluent but after applying inlet velocity and all other boundary conditions i got some results but in result my blades are not moving only air is going from the sides of the blades , someone help me i want both things air behavior and blades motion , i am a beginner stage in ansys so somebody can give me easy tips to solve my problem.

thankyou

Have a look at sliding mesh. You can start by rotating the blades at a set speed and later on you may want to use a UDF to calculate the force on the blades and account for the gearbox & generator resistance.

thank you for your response sir, but i just want to see that the turbine can move in different wind speed is there any way to do this in simple ways.

Yes sliding mesh: one stationary zone and one rotating zone. You will require some interfaces and that is it.

thankyou , for your reply sir but sir i have done same thing according to you , but fan is not rotating , i want to rotate fan due to wind trust force so can you help me

i dont want to rotate the turbine by giving rotational velocity , what i want is wind should rotate the blades by its thrust force.

So you want the flow to rotate the blades: as my colleagues mentioned that can be done with 6DOF.

so sir we can use 6dof for 3d model also??

You can use 6DOF or use sliding mesh as I mentioned and use a UDF to calculate the force balance. You'll need a UDF for 6DOF too, but as you only want the domain to rotate sliding ought to be enough.

sir , it will be my pleasure if you tell me the steps to do sliding mesh for my problem as per my model..

sir actually i dont want to apply rotational velocity to turbine , i want wind to rotate the turbine blades. for that what should i do???

sir , i have given to domain to my model one is rotating domain in which the turbine will rotate and second one is fluid domain  in which there will be one inlet and one outlet , as you can see in the pictures down , sir in fluent after loading my mesh model in fluent i checked 6dof option but i am not able to select any domain there in which i have to set direction vector , if u have any solution for this please help me sir ....
