How can I identify if a fluid is Non-Newtonian? 🤔

    Hi @prajput ,

When the rate of deformation (shear rate) in a fluid is not directly proportional to the applied shear stress, you have a non-Newtonian fluid.

Depending on the behavior exhibited by the fluid, they can be categorized as one of the following types of non-Newtonian fluids - Bingham plastic, Pseudoplastic, and Dilatant.

  • Thank you for the quick reply @kkanade ! Can you give me some examples of non-Newtonian fluids?

Ketchup is a good example. That is why you need to shake it well to let if flow. Also creams and shampoos are non-Newtonian fluids. Even the lipstick!
