Hi - RFID is an acronym that stands for “Radio-Frequency IDentification”. RFID is a very widely used technology and still rapidly developing. RFID uses include tracking equipment, goods, animals, etc. There is a large need to automatically enter information identifying an object with an automated ID. Bar codes and magnetic stripes are examples of RFIDS being used today.
  • How does these RFIDs works?

    Hello @prajput ,

RFID uses the methods of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC), which automatically identify objects, collect data about them, and enter those data directly into computer systems with little or no human intervention. It uses electromagnetic waves to accomplish this.

  • Are there many types of such RFID Tags? Any insight on that would be helpful.

Hi @prajput , Yes, RFID tags can be of any shapes and sizes. Mainly they are classified into Passive and Active RFID tags. Passive tags are less expensive and are widely used ones. But it must be powered up by the RFID reader for transmitting data. Whereas, RFID tags have onboard power supply, like an in-built battery, for data transmission.
