Given that you have a thin solid that is compressed between two other bodies, you assign Gasket to the body so the meshing software knows to put exactly one element through the thickness. You must also assign a material to the body that has Gasket material properties added in Engineering Data.
The gasket material only provides force as a function of displacement. The bodies on either side of the gasket need to be supported in all other degrees of freedom and just one body should be free to move normal to the plane of the joint.
