Fluent runs on a single core by default, to accelerate simulations we run in parallel, ie on many cores. I think you can use about 16 for a standard academic seat, but please check. Similarly, if you update the mech model every step it takes time, I'll leave to comment, but it may be possible to update Mechanical less frequently. If deformation is low you may find the FSI bit isn't too tightly coupled. nAs an aside, have a look at the intrinsic FSI in Fluent in the 2020 release, that avoids Mechanical entirely but doesn't have all the features. n
