Please zoom in to the thickness of the flange and show the elements of the mesh.nFor a beam made entirely from solid quadratic elements, you should have about four elements through the thickness to capture the effects of plasticity. If you only have one quadratic element through the thickness, that is not enough.nIf you are using tet elements, it is difficult to get four elements through the thickness. If you split your solid body into pieces, you can mesh with Hex elements and achieve this.nAnother approach is to extract midsurfaces from the solids and use shell elements instead of solid elements.n
