If the material has a fairly low volume fraction then DPM is fine, otherwise you may need to rethink the approach. nDPM assumes spheres with some options for non-spherical drag which are rarely used. Check the documentation as that'll explain how the model works.For multiphase you need to describe and understand the physics before going anywhere near the software. It's a complex field and depending on what you want/need to know the approach & models used could be different.n
