FDTD is rectangular mesh, so you may not use coarser mesh inside the ring . You can try DGTD. The large memory is most likely due to the fact that the simulation is very long. Please try to reduce the simulation time 10 times and check the memory. If the running memory is reduced, please use the resume check point to simulate a second time or even 3rd time. Before we go details for this, please first check if reducing simulation time can reduce memory, then we can discuss how to use resume in another post.n
