Hi 1shan, nI used a specimen Dumbell-shaped with mesh of 0.05 mm and element type 183; with displacement control of 3.5 mm to simulate tensile test. I have used a extensomenter at specimens without defect to compare results with strain maps. Indeed, the strain maps of DIC and Ansys to specimens without defect were similar. My problem was to specimens with defect. There were researched that did similar study which are in annex. nnn
