There's a flag in the user preferences, I think you've set it to pop-up rather than email at present.
If residuals are stable but not dropping look for noise on the residuals. Put some monitors on points in areas of interest and monitor for things like velocity & temperature. With a very fine mesh you may have picked up transients in the flow field: the monitors help diagnose these.
