Can you elaborate. When you say that the restarts are getting slower are you saying the N-R iterations at restart#1 is much faster than N-R iteration in restart#500 i.e. the solve time for each iteration is much longer? Also is the 1st restart taking same number of iterations to converge as the 500th restart? Not sure what type of nonlinearities you have.
