This is a good question. When trying to monitor the effects of charge or temperature on index and other optical properties, in addition to importing the data in the np density object, you would also need to use the ÔÇ£Index perturbationÔÇØ material in the area of interest. This is always needed since a ÔÇ£regularÔÇØ material wouldnÔÇÖt be sensitive to the imported data. Some of the typical constants are given for the Drude and Soref and Bennett model. The sensitivity tables are available in the custom option which allows you to provide a more customized sensitivity yourself.
