I don't work for ANSYS but I wanted to know what the NIU IT department said when you raised this issue with them.
ANSYS runs on the supported platforms and works using Windows Remote Desktop. If the NIU IT Department is trying to use some other remote access software, it is really up to them to get ANSYS working.
As the instructor, you can show NIU IT the problem. I don't see how you can do anything to resolve the problem if you are on a teleconference with ANSYS support. It would be more fruitful if the NIU IT department was on the phone with ANSYS. But first, what did the NIU IT department say when you showed them this problem?
