The units aren't a typo as such, they're an Americanism that makes little sense to anyone other than Americans who learnt chemistry in (about) the 80s. In this case the kgmol means kmol.
To add, kinetic rate is a term to describe the reaction rate, ie how quickly A+B becomes C+D.
