Note that Lumerical does not utilize GPU for computations or running simulations. The total memory bandwidth of the machine is important. This is computed as ((memory speed in MHz)*(# memory channels)*(8 bytes)/1000) GB/s. A multiprocessor machine with several memory channels would be faster compared to a single processor machine with fewer memory channels. Fill all memory slots on the motherboard with RAM modules. Also, check the CPU/processor specs you will be using. Server processors support more memory channels compared to desktop processors. See this
