Pathlines will follow the flow streamlines. Droplets would be the DPM model, but as you're using water as the continous fluid I suspect you want pathlines.
In the above you've plotted by stream ID. Replot and colour by age. Assuming you only have one surface selected, and have set the surface assignment correctly you should only release pathlines from one surface.
