Additive Manufacturing (AM) refers to all the technologies that build 3D objects of desired shape and size by depositing material layer-by-layer. It generally involves building a 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) model first and then using AM equipment to read the data in the CAD file to add successive layers of material to create the desired object.
