Im hoping to revive this thread because I'm still having the issue and its causing me to have to re-run every other simulation and its costing me a lot of time. Any time I make a small adjustment to my mesh, say add a few layers to my inflation or slightly reduce cell size in a refinement region, the fan boundary condition average zone direction randomly reverses. I am not changing the edge that the fan boundary condition is applied to in any way, its position in the domain remains exactly the same. It seems that the zone average direction is dependent on the mesh rather than the general coordinate system.
I cannot reasonably check this before running as I'm using a multiple design point setup in Workbench for efficiency. I really hope someone out there has a solution for this, as it would save me about 50% of runtime on every batch of simulations.
