Hello,

Negative determinant usually means you have a near zero stiffness. Please check you material input; are they in a consistent unit system?

Also, do you have rigid body motion? This could also cause the negative determinant error.

 

  1. Yes, you can use *BOUNDARY_SPC_SET to fix the face.
  2. Yes, you can use *LOAD_NODE_SET.
