Yes it should be possible.All operation done in Workbench page can recorded into journal file and playing back this journal file recreates a session. Scripting language is Python. Workbench scripting is fully documented and supported
Though for data Integrated Applications: Like Design Modeler, Meshing and Mechanical. These applications have independent User Interface window and can be customized/automated through Java scripting. I do not have an example here to be shared on this platform.
