That will save the GUI journal which can be problematic: mainly if you're not careful opening & closing panels interesting things can happen. It's a valid suggestion, but one that can catch out anyone who's not very careful about leaving panels scattered around (that includes me).
Have a look in the TUI, as that's pure text and therefore isn't reliant on GUI panels.
