It appears that there was a gap in the contact condition between the two plates. The 'Contact Tool' helped!
But what would be the proper mesh to use for this model? I have tried using the hex dominated method in order to get as high as possible element quality but the mesher failes to generate this mesh. What could be the reason for this?
