I would start with a clean installation.

Uninstall the Free Student Version.

After uninstall is finished, rename
c:\program files\ansys Inc\\Ansys Student
to:
c:\program files\ansys Inc\\Ansys Student.old

Then , reinstall by right-clicking on the setup.exe and choosing "run as administrator"
