In the Skin tool video, at t=9:30 I use Split Solid to cut the block using a skin on the top surface. The top piece of the block is air, the bottom piece of the block is solid wing with more air below that. Once you skin the bottom surface of the wing, you will use that surface to split the bottom block. The bottom of that is air so the block between the air blocks is solid wing!
