The H2 NOX mechanism is more complete/detailed than what you would find in the encrypted diesel mechanism.
A lot of fuels get broken down into smaller molcules via reactions that are triggered by H atoms, so the small-molecule h2 reactions are shared by most hydrocarbon combustion mechanisms to some degree, but they can proceed at slightly different rates in different environments. Also, some steps may not be present in the larger mechanisms because they are not as critical to the overall product formation rates as they are in pure H2 combustion. H2 combustion is always a key reaction step in any hydrocarbon oxidation, however.
