Yes, the bend line is the halfway point in the thin legs.
It is possible to create a follower force, but you need to insert some APDL code into a Command Object in your model. That is why it is simpler to apply a pressure to a known area, you can easily calculate the force that represents.
Before you do that, please plot the Moment vs Time chart. Does it have a strictly positive slope at all times? If so, you can replace the Remote Displacement with a Follower Force, but if the Moment chart has a negative slope, then a model based on Force (or Pressure) will have a problem converging.
