I looked at your archive and found out why you don’t have a displacement parabola for a part falling from rest. The reason is you have an Initial Condition for Velocity. Delete that and you will get what I was describing. In the example below, I suppressed both contacts.
To prevent the parts from passing through each other, try turning on Predict for Impact.
