I did exaclty what you suggested, so I opened a stand-alone CFX from Windows and retrieved the run information in Define Run window.
I tried to run both the .def and the .res of the original project, the .def and the .res of the recreated project. I ever obtanied the same return code after the initialization of the partitioning (same applies for serial).
The only difference is that the original .res file displayed the RMS curves on the monitor, but still exited at the partitioner.
