Yes, there is a way to pause (or interrupt) a mechanical (static or transient) simulation in Ansys Workbench, close all the ANSYS windows, turn the computer off and resume the same model later without losing the progress. You can click “Interrupt Solution” in the ANSYS Workbench Solution Status window that pops up during solution. This will pause the solution and allow you to look at the results so far. When you are ready to resume the simulation, you can simply click “Resume Solution” in the same window.
