CTE is the thermal property of the material and it will not change on the basis of the shape of the object. Like for volumetric CTE = 3 Linear CTE. Here the CTE is the same but for easy calculation, we have denoted the term 3 *Linear CTE as volumetric thermal expansion. CTE is the property of the material and it will not depend upon the shape and size of the material.
