Hello Simon,

I recommend you to first create an iso - surface on this capped fluid enclosed region since you have observed the isotherm there. I am attaching the user guide link on how to create isosurface on the particular location.

4.11. Postprocessing Results (ansys.com)

4.11.1.5. Iso-Surfaces- Please follow that.

Or else create multiple planes on the capped region. This can be done by clicking mesh display and then right click on the selected capped region (fluid enclosed region) then create multiple planes or iso surfaces then run the simulation and during post processing you can observe the isotherm in the particular plane.

Then export the location  surface data of this isosurface using the  following steps. Here are the steps. 1.Select the part from the tree and go to File->Export->Geometric Entities2.There select STL as the output format. Leave parameters space empty. Click on browse to select the folder in which you want to save the file and enter the name of the file3.Click OK. This will save the selected part as .stl to the chosen folder. From this .stl file open it in any geometry modelling software and extract the exact location points and save it as .csv excel file.

In some instances, newly created surfaces (except zone/line/point/rake) may contain erroneous lines. This can happen for surfaces created in any type of cell zone, but it is more likely in zones containing polyhedral mesh elements. Displaying a contour plot on these surfaces or displaying the surfaces directly may show these line edges. To reduce their appearance you can change the lighting method to Flat.

I hope this helps you in extracting the isotherm surface position.

Thanks,
