So, adding the read attribute to allow for the users (either by group or everyone) on the /home/domain folder does in fact allow the application to function normally.  I prefer to keep listings of 2000+ usernames hidden from regular users, security thing...if you cannot go into a folder no point showing it. Can i suggest that the developers remove this unnecessary requirement when the user has full access to the folder they are working inside of? In this case its /home/domain/username/Ansoft which is the default. Having the execute permission allowed is quite enough since no one ever needs to write or even read the /home/domain subfolder.
