There seems to be issue with gstarcad importing capabilities. I tried Exporting the dxf/dwg file in Autodesk DWG TrueView and it worked fine for me as lines remain hidden and the said issue was not seen. I also checked with re-importing it in SpaceClaim there also it works fine.
Please try by checking some options for lines display in gstarcad as we don't have gstarcad support.
